Chateau La Durantie, Dordogne, South of France.

Liz & Paul’s

wedding at

Chateau la durantie,

Dordogne, south of france.

France has always held a special place in my heart. I’ve spent many summers in both the north and south as a child camping on holiday. Being an August baby, I also spent a lot of birthdays there.

Getting to now visit to work in such a beautiful country and capture some of the history and artistry of the locations for weddings is just such a joy.

Liz & Paul’s special weekend was at the absolutely breath-taking Chateau La Durantie. They filled the place to the rafters with friends and family from all over the world, for the biggest party of the year.

The style was elegant, with soft pale green botanicals, pale blue bridesmaids dresses, and unequivocally French with a Croquembouche wedding cake, and champagne waterfall to celebrate.

The evening finished with a literal bang with an impressive fireworks display.

As part of my destination coverage, I also get involved with activities on other days. This wedding at Chateau La Durantie was no exception, as they have a fantastic outdoor pool to cool off in in the southern French sun.

Liz & Paul had a huge BBQ pool party to wash away the cobwebs and hangovers of the previous day, with a very impressive diving-but-not-really-diving-but-jumping-into-the-pool-and-trying-to-make-huge-splashes competition with all the guests…
