A Stylish, Minimalist Summer Wedding

Ro and Danny’s elegant summer wedding at the picturesque Midelney Manor in Somerset, was one of the highlights of the year for me.

It was on a scorching summers day, and the air was filled with unbridled love and laughter from start to finish.

Absolutely everybody was in high spirits (and drinking plenty of them!) throughout the course of the day, as they celebrated the love that these two have for each other.

A Stylish, Minimalist Summer Wedding at Midelney Manor

Nestled in the heart of the idyllic Somerset countryside, Midelney Manor provided the perfect backdrop for this stylish and minimalist summer wedding.

The historic charm of midelney manor, coupled with its beautifully landscaped gardens, was the perfect playground for me to find interesting angles and ways to compose my shots. It allowed me to get the most natural and candid photographs of the guests possible.

One of the real highlights of Midelney Manor though, is it’s owner and coordinator, Alice.

Alice was always on hand throughout the day to help absolutely anybody that needed it. I always like to help out where possible as well, and when I saw her carrying all of the florals through the woods from the ceremony area to the reception, I insisted that she let me help!

The Bridal Ensemble

Ro graced the occasion in a stunning yet simple satin dress adorned with a satin back cowl, exuding understated glamour. Her ensemble was elevated with a floral lace overskirt, which was a perfect nod to the florals found in the gardens of the grounds. Ro completed her ensemble with timeless pearl accessories.

Natural Light and Ethereal Backdrops

The vows were exchanged in a dreamy woodland ceremony, under the natural canopy of trees.

The golden sunlight streaming through the leaves created such a special feeling, which reminded me of Lothlórien, for any of you Tolkien nerds! The aisle was set with a rustic hessian walkway, lined with pockets of pastel flowers, and beyond that, simple wooden chairs. Everything tied together and complemented the organic nature of the location.

PIE & MASH

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued within a marquee with Midelney Manor as its backdrop. This provided some respite from the sun, and an intimate setting for guests to enjoy the raucous speeches followed by pie and mash.
The décor within the marquee was minimalist, featuring a leafy hanging canopy with Edison bulbs, and colourful candles. this perfectly complemented the ceremony and gardens within Midelney manor, creating an atmosphere of refined simplicity.

Celebrating Love in Style

The couple's choice to embrace a stylish and minimalist approach to their summer wedding truly allowed their love to take centre stage, and for me to do what I do best.
Weaving in and out of guests, constantly listening and watching for laughter, looking for moments to document people as authentically as possible.

As a wedding photographer, I love capturing the individuality of each couple's journey, and this event at mideleny manor was a testament to Ro & Danny.
