SALT AND champagne SPRAY AT Tunnels Beaches, Devon's Hidden gem wedding venue.
As a documentary wedding photographer, I’ve been desperate to shoot a wedding at Tunnels Beaches wedding venue in devon. It is, simply put, a STUNNING location, and one that is on a lot of wedding photographers bucket list locations.
One of my favourite things to photograph is the ocean, the other is people. So with those two combined, I couldn’t be happier to create in that space.
ABOUT THe VENUE
Nature's drama let’s the day unfold against the awesome backdrop of black cliff faces, vibrant, luscious greens and the architectural marvels of Tunnels Beaches main building, like an alien spacecraft hiding in the rocks. And the long sloping tunnels, hewn straight through the cliffside.
THE RUNDOWN
Tim & Becky’s moody but colourful wedding at Tunnels Beaches was another one of my favourites from 2023.
We had an instant connection during our first facetime chat, to discuss all of the ins and outs of their wedding day.
Fast forward to March, and as I’m getting close to the venue along the coast, I’m greeted by moody fog and stormy seas. A lot of people may be unhappy about this, hoping for cloudless blue skies on their wedding day, but I knew it was going to provide an EPIC backdrop to the images.
The day kicked off with the Groom and his gang taking a dip in the sea in the morning, with obligatory dunking and tackling of those who were attempting to fully submerge themselves in the icy waters!
The ceremony was held outside, and it was certainly one to remember. A combination of slick black rock, the crashing waves and gulls cawing and wheeling overhead made everything super dramatic.
Drinks were also held on the terrace, and everyone got the chance to soak up the atmosphere and scenery.
As night fell, fire pits lit up the outside space, with warm candlelight providing the interior lighting, creating a super cosy ambiance. Dinner was an expert level BBQ of fresh grilled meats and seafood.
To top it off, there were Cornish pasties in the evening to soak up all the booze!
I can’t wait to get back for another round!

Where to start with Ollie?
We could honestly not have picked a better photographer to capture our wedding day.

My photos look like they could be in Vogue!
His editing is brilliant and was exactly the style we wanted, gorgeous soft-focus, vintage-vibes and amazing black and white photos.
Ollie completed our photos in absolute record time, and I love literally every photo.
He is the loveliest guy and you will not regret hiring him.
I will forever be so grateful for having Ollie as our photographer and will find an excuse to book him again!
